- Book 4 was probably was compiled during the time when Israel returned to the land under Ezra (458 B.C.) and Nehemiah (445 B.C.). It was as time of restoration and re-establishing kingdom.
According to the Jewish tradition, Book 4 corresponds to Moses’ fourth book, the Book of Numbers.
Book 4 teaches about the
Praise is the means by which God’s rule is invited into
A Psalm of Thanksgiving.
1 Make a joyful shout to the Lord, all you lands! (all the earth)
> 2 Serve the Lord with gladness;
Come before His presence with singing.
> 3 Know that the Lord, He is God; > It is He who has made us, and not we ourselves;
We are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
> 4 Enter into His gates with thanksgiving, > And into His courts with praise.
Be thankful to Him, and bless His name.
> 5 For the Lord is good; > His mercy is everlasting,
And His truth endures to all generations. —Psalm 100
1. God’s people are called to
in gratitude.

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. —1 Peter 2:9
Title and Verse 4 - Todah. Means “a thanksgiving offering”.
Psalm 22:3 - As we praise, He draws near to us.
- Psalm 100:4 - When we praise, we draw near to Him.
- James 4:8 - Draw near to God and He will draw near to you.
1 Lift up a great shout of joy to Yahweh!
Go ahead and do it—everyone, everywhere!
2 Worship Yahweh with gladness.
Sing your way into his presence with joy!
3 And realize what this really means—
we have the privilege of worshiping Yahweh our God.
For he is our Creator and we belong to him.
We are the people of his pleasure.
4 You can pass through his open gates with the password of praise.
Come right into his presence with thanksgiving.
Come bring your thank offering to him
and affectionately bless his beautiful name!
5 For Yahweh is always good and ready to receive you.
He’s so loving that it will amaze you—
so kind that it will astound you!
And he is famous for his faithfulness toward all.

for he keeps his promises to every generation! —Psalm 100, TPT
Gratitude is the master password. Enter his gates with Thanksgiving!
Gratitude a form of praise that quickly
It is good to give thanks to the Lord, And to sing praises to Your name, O Most High. —Psalm 92:1
Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name. —Hebrews 13:15
giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ. —Ephesians 5:20
in everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. —1 Thessalonians 5:18
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; —Philippians 4:8
11 Now it happened as He went to Jerusalem that He passed through the midst of Samaria and Galilee. 12 Then as He entered a certain village, there met Him ten men who were lepers, who stood afar off. 13 And they lifted up their voices and said, “Jesus, Master, have mercy on us!”
14 So when He saw them, He said to them, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.” And so it was that as they went, they were cleansed.

2. Praise is so significant that there are 8 separate Hebrew
for it!
a. Halal - to boast, brag, celebrate God even to the point of appearing foolish.
b. Yadah means to worship with extended or
c. Barak - “Barak” is used to denote blessing, or to kneel in praise and adoration.
d. Tehillah means to sing or to laud.
e. Zamar means to pluck the strings of an instrument (Psalm 7:17).
f. Todah is related to yadah, but it’s a thank offering.
g. “Shabach” also means to
h. Hallelujah transcends the languages of the world. It is not translated; it is transliterated. It simply means Praise the Lord!
