How do I press into my Spiritual Journey when it feels hard to navigate
“Stop waiting to feel ready. Ready isn’t a feeling, it’s a decision.” – unknown
God doesn’t want our readiness, He wants our willingness
How do we press into our Spiritual Journey when it feels hard to navigate?
1) Understand there’s rhythms and seasons in the journey
(James 5:7-11) Be patient, therefore, brothers,[a] until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.
PLANTING (early rain)
HARVESTING (late rain.)
2) Establish our hearts
(James 5:8) Be patient, therefore, brothers,[a] until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains.
8 You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand.
WAITING (trusting, fixing ourselves on Jesus)
3) Be Steadfast
(James 5:11) Be patient, therefore, brothers,[a] until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, being patient about it, until it receives the early and the late rains. 8 You also, be patient. Establish your hearts, for the coming of the Lord is at hand. 9 Do not grumble against one another, brothers, so that you may not be judged; behold, the Judge is standing at the door. 10 As an example of suffering and patience, brothers, take the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. 11 Behold, we consider those blessed who remained steadfast. You have heard of the steadfastness of Job, and you have seen the purpose of the Lord, how the Lord is compassionate and merciful.
(James 1:12) Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.
(1 Corinthians 15:58) Be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord…”
GROWING (steadfastness)
