”Mother’s Who Follow Christ” - Mothers Day

Sunday May 11th, 2025

Mothers Who Follow Christ
Are to be valued!

Proverbs 31:10, 28 (NKJV)
Who can find a virtuous wife?
For her worth is far above rubies.
Her children rise up and call her blessed;
Her husband also, and he praises her.

Ephesians 6:2 (NKJV)
“Honor your father and mother,” which is the first commandment with promise: “that it may be well with you and you may live long on the earth.”

Eph. 5:25 (NKJV)
Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her

No Higher Calling!

Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)
So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply;

Obviously parenting is a God ordained directive — not necessarily for every woman — Parenting brings with it great responsibility!

Isaiah 66:13 (NKJV)
As one whom his mother comforts,
So I will comfort you;
“A metaphor used for God’s nurturing love”

Teach you children the truth!

Proverbs 22:6 - NKJV
Train up a child in the way he should go,
And when he is old he will not depart from it.

DISCIPLINE YOUR CHILDREN

Proverbs 13:24 (The Message)
A refusal to correct is a refusal to love;
Love your children by disciplining them.

Instruct - discipline - intentionality!

Nurture in your children a desire for godliness — By modeling the compassion and love of Christ — demonstrating mercy — displaying the Fruit of the Spirit.

Galatians 5:22,23
But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.

When we know Jesus we understand the value of life here, and in Heaven

  • We know the source of truth is the Bible.
  • We understand God’s standard of Holy living.
  • We have access to true wisdom.

Love at first sight!!

The First to See You and know you!

Psalm 139:13-16 (NLT)
“You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb.
Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it.
You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb.
You saw me before I was born.
Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.”
