A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. —Ephesians 6:10-12
Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. —Ephesians 6:13
In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. —Ephesians 6:16
(1.) Who is the devil?
He canceled the record of the charges against us and took it away by nailing it to the cross. In this way, he disarmed the spiritual rulers and authorities. He shamed them publicly by his victory over them on the cross. —Colossians 2:14-15
(2.) What are his fiery arrows?
a. Doubt
b. Deception
c. Fear
d. Temptation
Temptation comes from our own desires, which entice us and drag us away. These desires give birth to sinful actions. And when sin is allowed to grow, it gives birth to death. —James 1:14-15
e. Accusation
f. Condemnation
So now there is no condemnation for those who belong to Christ Jesus. —Romans 8:1
(3.) How can faith be our shield?
Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see. —Hebrews 11:1
