I don’t care what people think.

I don’t care what people think (but really I want their approval).

We are overly sensitive.

We compromise our values.


We are hesitant to share our faith.


We have a hard time saying no.


You can’t walk confidently in God’s purpose for you if you’re constantly worried about people’s opinions of you.

Fearing people is a dangerous trap, but trusting the Lord means safety. —Proverbs 29:25

What blessings await you when people hate you and exclude you and mock you and curse you as evil because you follow the Son of Man. When that happens, be happy! Yes, leap for joy! For a great reward awaits you in heaven. And remember, their ancestors treated the ancient prophets that same way. —Luke 6:22-23

Yes, and everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will suffer persecution. —2 Timothy 3:12

Focus on pleasing God instead of pleasing people.

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant. —Galatians 1:10

Live from the approval of God not for the approval of people.

For we speak as messengers approved by God to be entrusted with the Good News. Our purpose is to please God, not people. He alone examines the motives of our hearts. —I Thessalonians 2:4

2 Corinthians 5:17 – You are a new creation.
Ephesians 1:7 – You are forgiven.
Ephesians 2:10 – You are God’s masterpiece.
Matthew 5:14 – You are the light of the world.
Romans 8:11 – You are filled with the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead.
2 Corinthians 5:20 – You are Christ’s ambassador.
