Go (2019) (Week 01)
John Swadley
Part of Go (2019)—Message Notes
November 24, 2019

1Now concerning the collection for the saints: as I directed the churches of Galatia, so you also are to do. 2On the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up, as he may prosper, so that there will be no collecting when I come. 3And when I arrive, I will send those whom you accredit by letter to carry your gift to Jerusalem. 4If it seems advisable that I should go also, they will accompany me. 5I will visit you after passing through Macedonia, for I intend to pass through Macedonia, 6and perhaps I will stay with you or even spend the winter, so that you may help me on my journey, wherever I go. 7For I do not want to see you now just in passing. I hope to spend some time with you, if the Lord permits. 8But I will stay in Ephesus until Pentecost, 9for a wide door for effective work has opened to me, and there are many adversaries. (1 Corinthians 16:1-9, ESV)

1. I’m thankful for your

investment in sharing the gospel with the world. (1 Corinthians 16:1-2)

2. I’m thankful for those of you who obey the command of Jesus to

. (1 Corinthians 16:3)

3. I’m thankful for the

we’ve developed as we go. (1 Corinthians 16:4-7)

4. I’m thankful for the

of seeing God’s light overcome the darkness. (1 Corinthians 16:8-9)

Main point: You’ll never be more

than when you go and see for yourself what God is doing to save souls around the world.

“When all our enemies heard about this, all the surrounding nations were afraid and lost their self-confidence, because they realized that this work had been done with the help of our God.” (Nehemiah 6:16)
