Luke 11:5-13
Luke 11:1 –
He was praying in a certain place, and when he finished, one of his disciples said to him, “Lord,
teach us to pray, just as John also taught his disciples.”
A. Why Should God Answer My Prayers?
1. The person being petitioned is a friend.
2. Mr. Outside does not knock, he calls to Mr. Inside.
3. Mr. Outside is only asking for the minimum needed.
4. There is nothing self-serving in Mr. Outside’s request.
5. Mr. Inside’s excuse is shameful.
6. Mr. Inside will answer your request because of His reputation.
7. The story ends with a question: “What father among you…?”
B. Why God Answers Prayer:
1. Because God is The Friend at Midnight.
2. Because He is part of our village.
3. Because He will withhold nothing that is good for you.
4. Because He will give you not just what you ask for, but what you need.
C. Why Pray?
1. Because He will give you as much as you need.
2. He will give you much more than you need: His Holy Spirit.
