Icebreaker: What is one of the most risky things you’ve ever done?
Have everyone spend time reading Joshua 1:1-9 and Acts 21:13-14 quietly to themselves. After a few minutes, either have one person read the passage for the group or have each person take turns reading a portion until the entire passage has been read.

How does this passage in Joshua connect with taking big risks for the sake of the kingdom? How would you encourage someone of the faith who is timid, yet feeling a call to take a step of faith, to be strong and courageous?
What does the Acts passage tell us about Paul and his faith? How do we come to a place where we’re ready to take a risk for the gospel that could cause us death or harm?
