
A Saving Work 5:1-32
As the rest of the New Testament makes clear, forgiveness of sins is one of the central blessings Jesus came to give immediately to all who repent and believe on him. Physical healing is another messianic kingdom blessing breaking through into this age but not yet given in fullness.

The common theme running through these three paragraphs is that Jesus has come not simply to continue the old patterns, but rather to fulfill them and institute something new. This something new is rooted in something old—recognizably connected but really different.
