Thanking Through It - Week One

Thankfulness begins by working on a skill = Training your mind

Admitting you need a power to develop that skill you do not possess is vital.

So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me. —2 Corinthians 12:9 (NLT)

God’s tools to help train your mind include, but are not limited to: Community, Counselors, Prayer, Sunshine, Doctors, God’s Word, Worship Music, Exercise, and Laughter.

Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it. Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. —Joshua 1:8 (NLT)

But they delight in the law of the Lord, meditating on it day and night. —Psalm 1:2 (NLT)

Meditation = Rumination

This is the day the Lord has made. We will rejoice and be glad in it. —Psalm 118:24 (NLT)

Your brain is designed to look for patterns and create neurological pathways to help you keep thinking about the things you keep thinking about and doing the things you keep doing.

And now, dear brothers and sisters, one final thing. Fix your thoughts on what is true, and honorable, and right, and pure, and lovely, and admirable. Think about things that are excellent and worthy of praise. Keep putting into practice all you learned and received from me—everything you heard from me and saw me doing. Then the God of peace will be with you. —Philippians 4:8-9 (NLT)

Not that I was ever in need, for I have learned how to be content with whatever I have. I know how to live on almost nothing or with everything. I have learned the secret of living in every situation, whether it is with a full stomach or empty, with plenty or little. —Philippians 4:11-12 (NLT)

This is something Paul LEARNED, and you can too! Where you are today is not where you have to stay forever.

Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. —Romans 12:2 (NLT)

As YOU work on changing your mind, GOD will change your life.

The blessings of God are in my life.

The favor of God is on my life.

I choose today to rejoice and be glad in it.
