Think Like a Champion
The journey to living as a champion in Christ begins with transforming the way we think. As followers of Jesus, we must adopt a mindset of victory, knowing that God is our champion and that no opposition, nothing, can prevail against us.
- Jeremiah 20:11 AMP
[11] But the LORD is with me as a dread champion [one to be greatly feared]; Therefore my persecutors will stumble and not overcome [me]. They will be completely shamed, for they have not acted wisely and have failed [in their schemes]; Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten.
I. Renewing Your Mind
Romans 12:2 AMP
[2] And do not be conformed to this world [any longer with its superficial values and customs], but be transformed and progressively changed [as you mature spiritually] by the renewing of your mind [focusing on godly values and ethical attitudes], so that you may prove [for yourselves] what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect [in His plan and purpose for you].Jeremiah 1:19 AMP
[19] They will fight against you, but they will not [ultimately] prevail over you, for I am with you [always] to protect you and deliver you,” says the LORD.Psalms 39:3 AMP
[3] My heart was hot within me. While I was musing the fire burned; Then I spoke with my tongueJeremiah 20:11 AMP
[11] But the LORD is with me as a dread champion [one to be greatly feared]; Therefore my persecutors will stumble and not overcome [me]. They will be completely shamed, for they have not acted wisely and have failed [in their schemes]; Their eternal dishonor will never be forgotten.

II. Align Our Thoughts with God’s Truth
- God’s Presence Brings Comfort
- God’s Presence Brings Confidence
God’s Presence Brings Guidance
Psalms 32:8 AMP
[8] I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you [who are willing to learn] with My eye upon you.Isaiah 30:20-21 AMP
[20]Though the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of oppression, yet your Teacher will no longer hide Himself, but your eyes will [constantly] see your Teacher. [21] Your ears will hear a word behind you, “This is the way, walk in it,” whenever you turn to the right or to the left.2 Corinthians 10:5 AMP
[5] We are destroying sophisticated arguments and every exalted and proud thing that sets itself up against the [true] knowledge of God, and we are taking every thought and purpose captive to the obedience of Christ
MY NOTES
III. Conquer Fear and Doubt
1: Jesus, Our Source of Courage
- 2 Timothy 1:7 AMP
[7] For God did not give us a spirit of timidity or cowardice or fear, but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of sound judgment and personal discipline [abilities that result in a calm, well-balanced mind and self-control].
2: Overcome Doubt by Anchoring in Jesus’ Truth
Matthew 14:29-31 AMP
[29] He said, “Come!” So Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus. [30] But when he saw [the effects of] the wind, he was frightened, and he began to sink, and he cried out, “Lord, save me!” [31] Immediately Jesus extended His hand and caught him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”Proverbs 3:5 AMP
[5] Trust in and rely confidently on the LORD with all your heart And do not rely on your own insight or understanding.

3: Jesus’ Victory Over Fear and Death
Hebrews 2:14-15 AMP
[14] Therefore, since [these His] children share in flesh and blood [the physical nature of mankind], He Himself in a similar manner also shared in the same [physical nature, but without sin], so that through [experiencing] death He might make powerless (ineffective, impotent) him who had the power of death—that is, the devil [15] and [that He] might free all those who through [the haunting] fear of death were held in slavery throughout their lives.John 16:33 AMP
[33] I have told you these things, so that in Me you may have [perfect] peace. In the world you have tribulation and distress and suffering, but be courageous [be confident, be undaunted, be filled with joy]; I have overcome the world.” [My conquest is accomplished, My victory abiding.]
MY NOTES
4: Cast Fear and Doubt on Jesus
- Philippians 4:6-7 AMP
[6] Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God. [7] And the peace of God [that peace which reassures the heart, that peace] which transcends all understanding, [that peace which] stands guard over your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus [is yours].
5: Fearless Living Through the Holy Spirit
- Romans 8:31 AMP
[31] What then shall we say to all these things? If God is for us, who can be [successful] against us?
MY NOTES
6: Jesus’ Call to Walk in Faith, Not Fear
Psalms 56:3 AMP
[3] When I am afraid, I will put my trust and faith in You.Philippians 4:8 AMP
[8] Finally, believers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable and worthy of respect, whatever is right and confirmed by God’s word, whatever is pure and wholesome, whatever is lovely and brings peace, whatever is admirable and of good repute; if there is any excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think continually on these things [center your mind on them, and implant them in your heart].
