The Greatest Story Ever Told
Let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. 2 We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the champion who initiates and perfects our faith. Because of the joy awaiting him, he endured the cross, disregarding its shame. Now he is seated in the place of honor beside God’s throne. Hebrews 12:1b-2
Three Questions:
I. Do I
But he replied, “I won’t believe it unless I see the nail wounds in his hands,
put my fingers into them, and place my hand into the wound in his side.”
26 Eight days later the disciples were together again, and this time
Thomas was with them. The doors were locked; but suddenly, as before,
Jesus was standing among them. “Peace be with you,” he said. 27 Then
he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here, and look at my hands. Put your
hand into the wound in my side. Don’t be faithless any longer. Believe!”
28 “My Lord and my God!” Thomas exclaimed. 29 Then Jesus told him,
“You believe because you have seen me. Blessed are those who believe
without seeing me.” John 20:25b-29
II. Do I
16 Then the eleven disciples left for Galilee, going to the mountain where
Jesus had told them to go. 17 When they saw him, they worshiped him—
but some of them doubted! Matthew 28:16-17
III. Do I
21 “Not everyone who calls out to me, ‘Lord! Lord!’ will enter the
Kingdom of Heaven. Only those who actually do the will of my Father
in heaven will enter. 22 On judgment day many will say to me, ‘Lord!
Lord! We prophesied in your name and cast out demons in your name
and performed many miracles in your name.’ 23 But I will reply, ‘I never
knew you. Matthew 7:21-22
