Acts 2:15-41

1. Peter Starts With . (Vs. 14-20, Isaiah 44:2-3, Rom 1:1-4, Matt 24:4-8)

Isaiah 44:2-3, “This is the word of the Lord your Maker, the one who formed you from the womb: He will help you… For I will pour water on the thirsty land and streams on the dry ground; I will pour out my Spirit on your descendants and my blessing on your offspring.”

Romans 1:1-4, “Paul, a servant of Christ Jesus, called as an apostle, and set apart for the gospel of God—which he promised beforehand through his prophets in the Holy Scriptures—concerning his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord, who was a descendant of David, according to the flesh and was appointed to be the powerful Son of God according to the Spirit of holiness by the resurrection of the dead.”

Matthew 24:4-8, “Jesus replied to them, “Watch out that no one deceives you. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Messiah,’ and they will deceive many. You are going to hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, because these things must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise up against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines, and earthquakes in various places. All these events are the beginning of labor pains.”

2. Peter Continues with . (Vs. 21-36, Luke 18:36-38, Psa 110:1-2, Phil 2:8-10)

Luke 18:36-38, “Hearing a crowd passing by, he inquired what was happening. “Jesus of Nazareth is passing by,” they told him. So he called out, “Jesus, Son of David, have mercy on me!””

Psalm 110:1-2, “This is the declaration of the Lord to my Lord: “Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies your footstool.” The Lord will extend your mighty scepter from Zion. Rule over your surrounding enemies.”

Philippians 2:8-10, “he humbled himself by becoming obedient to the point of death—even to death on a cross. For this reason God highly exalted him and gave him the name that is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow—in heaven and on earth and under the earth—and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.”

3. Peter Finishes with the Hope of . (Vs. 37-41, Mark 1:4, Acts 22:16, 1 Cor 12:11)

Mark 1:4, “John came baptizing, in the wilderness and proclaiming a baptism of repentance for the forgiveness of sins.”

Acts 22:16, “And now, why are you delaying? Get up and be baptized, and wash away your sins, calling on his name.’”

1 Corinthians 12:11, “One and the same Spirit is active in all these, distributing to each person as he wills.”
