SMALL GROUP QUESTIONS

Warm Up Question: Use Head question #1 to serve as your warm-up question.

HEAD: These questions help us examine the Word.
1) Read 2 Timothy 3:1-9. Which of these 19 behaviors is especially frustrating to you? How do you tend to respond?
2) Have you ever seen any of these behaviors within the church? How did you respond to them?
3) Knowing that Jesus pursued us and even died for us “while we were yet sinners” (Romans 5:8), what do you think Paul means in 2 Timothy 3:5 when he tells us to “avoid these people”?
4) What do you think Paul means in verse 8 when he speaks of these people being “worthless in regard to the faith”? How should we respond to such people?

HEART: These questions help us wrestle with what we believe.
5) Which of these 19 behaviors is easiest for you, yourself, to fall into? What do you do to avoid falling into this behavior?
6) Has anyone ever called you out for your own ungodly behavior? How did you respond? What do you think of Proverbs 27:6?
7) Have you ever confronted someone else for their behavior? If so, how did you do it, and how did they respond? If you’ve never done this, why not?
8) Read Hebrews 12:3-4. How does this help us deal with the ungodly behaviors around us?

HAND: These questions help us bring truth and beliefs into our everyday life.
9) Name one thing you would like to address in your own life, whether an ungodly behavior of your own or the ungodly behavior of someone in your life. What is one step you can begin to take to address this?
