Keep the Faith
INFLUENCE – Week 3
2 Timothy 3:1-18

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV – All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 3:1 ESV - But understand this, that in the last days there will come times of difficulty.

2 Timothy 4:7 ESV – I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith.

WHO IS

YOU?

2 Timothy 3:2-4 ESV – For people will be lovers of self, lovers of money, proud, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy, heartless, unappeasable, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, not loving good, 4 treacherous, reckless, swollen with conceit, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God.

2 Timothy 3:5 ESV – Having the appearance of godliness but denying its power. Avoid such people.

Matthew 23:27-28 ESV – Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you are like whitewashed tombs, which outwardly appear beautiful, but within are full of dead people’s bones and all uncleanness. So you also outwardly appear righteous to others, but within you are full of hypocrisy and lawlessness.

2 Timothy 3:5 NIV - Having a form of godliness but denying its power.
Have nothing to do with such people.

1 Corinthians 15:33 ESV – Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.”

Proverbs 22:24-25 ESV – Make no friendship with a man given to anger, nor go with a wrathful man, 25 lest you learn his ways and entangle yourself in a snare.

WHAT SHOULD I DO?
2 Timothy 3:10-13 ESV – You, however, have followed my teaching, my conduct, my aim in life, my faith, my patience, my love, my steadfastness, 11 my persecutions and sufferings that happened to me at Antioch, at Iconium, and at Lystra—which persecutions I endured; yet from them all the Lord rescued me.

2 Timothy 3:10-13 ESV – Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted, 13 while evil people and impostors will go on from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.

2 Timothy 3:14-15 ESV - But as for you, continue in what you have learned and have firmly believed, knowing from whom you learned it and how from childhood you have been acquainted with the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.

*GET/STAY IN GOD’S WORD! *

2 Timothy 3:16-17 ESV – All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, 17 that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

WHY is it necessary that we allow God’s Word to do this in our lives?
2 Timothy 3:17 NIV – So that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

WHY is it necessary that we allow God’s Word to do this in our lives?

2 Timothy 2:21 NLT – If you keep yourself pure, you will be a special utensil for honorable use. Your life will be clean, and you will be ready for the Master to use you for every good work.

James 1:22 ESV - But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.

James 1:25 ESV - But the one who looks into the perfect law, the law of liberty, and perseveres, being no hearer who forgets but a doer who acts, he will be blessed in his doing.
