Kicking off a Brand-New Series … Dream Chasers

As kids, most of us grow up dreaming… and then something happened.

God’s revelation in Biblical times and today…

Jacob- Genesis 28:12
Laban- Genesis 31:24
Joseph- Genesis 37:9-11
Gideon- Judges 7
Solomon- I Kings 3:5
Nebuchadnezzar- Daniel 2:1
Pilate’s wife- Matthew 27:19
Wise men- Matthew 2:12
Joseph- Matthew 1:20

Today, everything ties back to Scripture… God will use people, His Spirit… Always align with Scripture…

Three fundamentals to becoming a Dream Chaser…

1. Realize God has an amazing plan and purpose for my life

For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. —NIV Jeremiah 29:11

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! —NLT Psalm 139:13–17

Now all glory to God, who is able, through his mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen. —NLT Ephesians 3:20–21

2. Stay connected to the dream giver

John 14 - 15

Jesus is the giver and sustainer of the dream…

3. Strategically let go

Let go of

My past

Our dreams must be bigger than our memories…

Not that I have already obtained all this, or have already arrived at my goal, but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. —NIV Philippians 3:12–14

When the past was good… be encouraged of past faithfulness for future faith

When the past was not good… Forgiveness, Healing, and Boundaries will be a part of the healing process

Let go of my insecurities

But Moses pleaded with the LORD, “O Lord, I’m not very good with words. I never have been, and I’m not now, even though you have spoken to me. I get tongue-tied, and my words get tangled.” —NLT Exodus 4:10

Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus Christ comes again. God will make this happen, for he who calls you is faithful. —NLT 1 Thessalonians 5:23–24

Let go of my need for all the details and control

Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek his will in all you do, and he will show you which path to take. —NLT Proverbs 3:5–6

Father, if you are willing, take this cup from me; yet not my will, but yours be done.” —NIV Luke 22:42
