Matthew 16:1-3
Then the Pharisees and Sadducees came, and testing Him asked that He would show them a sign from heaven. 2 He answered and said to them, “When it is evening you say, ‘It will be fair weather, for the sky is red’; 3 and in the morning, ‘It will be foul weather today, for the sky is red and threatening.’ Hypocrites! You know how to discern the face of the sky, but you cannot discern the signs of the times.”

It takes physical eyesight to forecast the weather, but it requires biblical insight to forecast the world.

2 Thessalonians 2:1-4
Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him, we ask you, 2 not to be soon shaken in mind or troubled, either by spirit or by word or by letter, as if from us, as though the day of Christ had come. 3 Let no one deceive you by any means; for that Day will not come unless the falling away comes first, and the man of sin is revealed, the son of perdition, 4 who opposes and exalts himself above all that is called God or that is worshiped, so that he sits as God in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.

The more antichrist the world becomes, the readier it will be for the Antichrist to come.

1 John 2:18
Little children, it is the last hour; and as you have heard that the Antichrist is coming, even now many antichrists have come, by which we know that it is the last hour. )

Antichrist = Resist Christ = Replace Christ

Revelation 13:16
16 He causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hand or on their foreheads, 17 and that no one may buy or sell except one who has the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

The Word of God does not produce artificial intelligence; it produces spiritual intelligence.

Revelation 13:14-15
14 And he deceives those who dwell on the earth by those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived. 15 He was granted power to give breath to the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak and cause as many as would not worship the image of the beast to be killed.

Unholy people conform to a fallen world in the likeness of Satan. Conversely, holy people are transformed by the risen Lord in the likeness of God.

Artificial intelligence will spur on artificial lawlessness.

Those who do not receive the love of the truth will hate those who have a love for the truth.

Matthew 24:9-12
9 “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and kill you, and you will be hated by all nations for My name’s sake. 10 And then many will be offended, will betray one another, and will hate one another. 11 Then many false prophets will rise up and deceive many. 12 And because lawlessness will abound, the love of many will grow cold.

Matthew 24:13-14
13 But he who endures to the end shall be saved. 14 And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come.

Trusting in God’s providence produces perseverance.

1. After reading the series of global symptoms in Matthew 24:7-8, how should Christians respond to “the beginning of sorrows?” What do these signs point us towards and how should they impact our personal Christian walk? (See 2 Peter 3:10-13)
   

2. What does “antichrist” mean in the grand scheme of things? (See 1 John 2:18)
   

3. How are current technological advancements (i.e. AI), coupled with evil in high places, conditioning us to conform to the antichrist spirit of the age? How can we be guarded against deception?
   

4. Take time to read Exodus 13:9 and Deuteronomy 6:8, then read Revelation 13:16. What do you see as you compare these passages? (Hint: What the Lord institutes, the devil counterfeits)
