Use the following questions and directions based on today’s sermon as a starting point for spiritual discussions with your family or a small group of Christian friends this week.

‌‌Fellowship—Relationship with a Purpose

• What is the biggest victory you’ve ever been part of (sports, business, personal, etc)? How did you celebrate?

Growth—Thinking About Spiritual Matters

• Does Gog have any choice but to participate in the battle (v. 4)? Do you think God normally works against our character and choices, or with them? (See 38:10-12)
• Look at a Bible map and identify the nations in the first six verses of the chapter. Would they have any normal reasons to attack Israel? What seems to be their motivation here?
• Why is God looking to utterly defeat Gog and his forces? Look at 38:23. How will the battle accomplish this?
• Which of the punishments facing Gog’s army do you think is most humiliating? Why?
• Have you ever tried to stand against God? Explain the situation and how it turned out for you. If you knew then what you know now about God, how would you have acted differently?
• Read 1 John 4:4 and 5:5. Why should we, as Christians, have confidence in God? How can you use that confidence to encourage other Christians? How can you use it to evangelize your lost friends?

• Thank God for His victorious power! Pray for Jesus to return soon and for all evil to be defeated.‌
