Romans 13:14 | But put on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make no provision for the flesh, to gratify its desires.

• What does it meant to “put on the Lord Jesus Christ”?

//It means to be

to the reality that the time to live for His glory and wear the armor of light is now.
// It means to to walk in the works of darkness.
// We have put on His righteousness in justification and now we put on His holiness as we follow the leadership of the Spirit who is sanctifying us.

“make no provision for the flesh”**

• This phrase is an explanation of how to find

over sin.

// First of all, we

to live out the character of Christ (“put on the Lord Jesus Christ”).
// Secondly, we stay aware of the and the supply lines, triggers, and entry points of sin in our lives.

• “Provision…flesh” >> Within this word “provision” is the idea of making plans or setting up supply lines for potential

. “Provision” is literally translated “forethought.”
• Jesus has dealt a mortal to your flesh and it is dying. You must consider it and dead and refuse to feed it.
• John Owen >> Be killing sin or sin will be killing you.
• Do not plan for Sin. Do not even give Sin a welcome. Don’t offer Sin an . Kick Sin off your doorstep before it has a chance to enter your house, the temple of the Holy Spirit!
• Is the presence of temptation ? No. It is not the first thought of temptation, but the second thought and the planning for it, as Martin Luther said, “Temptations, of course, cannot be avoided, but because we cannot prevent the birds from flying over our heads, there is no need that we should let them nest in our hair.”
