
Today’s text includes two of the most famous verses in all the Bible. We find a declaration of the nature of God. From this statement of the nature of God and our necessary relationship to him all the teachings of the scripture grows.

This is known as the Shema. Shema is a word in Hebrew that means ‘to hear or listen’. It’s really even more than just simply listening but listening with the intent to obey.
Deuteronomy 6:5-6 One Love
God deserves our love because he alone is the Lord of glory. What God wants is a love for him that eclipses and orders all other loves.

If we don’t have biblical worshipful habits to form us we will end up conforming to the cultural patterns of the world around us.
