Leviticus 27:1-8 Sermon notes
June 16, 2024

I have enjoy our journey through the book of Leviticus, as we have learned more about walking in His ways. So what can we discover in this last chapter?

When God’s people make a promise to Him, He expects they will fulfill it.

This does make sense to me. If someone is working for us, giving us a promise to cost, and time frame, we expect them to keep it.

If someone tells us they are going to do something for us, we expect them to follow through.

If our children, or your parents make a promise, we expect them to do what they had said.

This is the exact concept we find in this last chapter.

This is what we expect from others, but what about us?

We cannot judge others by their actions, and oursevles by our intentions. (Facing the giants)

We expect:
1. Grace
2. Mercy
3. Forgiveness
4. Understanding.

So how can we make sure we keep our promises better than we do right now?
1. Don’t make a promise that is impossible to keep.
2. Don’t make a promise that you do not intend to keep.
3. Don’t leave someone waiting on you. If something comes up let them know, apologize, and reschedule.

The idea here is if we make a promise, then we are expected to fulfill it.

So how many of us have made promises to the LORD, but have yet to fulfill it?
Promises like surrendering our lives to Him; or spendig more time with Him; or to follow Him in something specific. It is time for us to follow through this morning. Come, give your life to Jesus.
