Unmasking Jezebel

JEZEBEL = manipulative, controlling, dominating character.

Revelation 2:20
20 Notwithstanding I have a few things against thee, because thou sufferest that woman Jezebel, which calleth herself a prophetess, to teach and to seduce my servants…”

PROPHESY - False prophesy is someone who says spiritual things with no fruit of the spirit… (love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, gentleness, self control)…

TEACH - MOST Jezebels are good teachers. They know how to use the Bible when it benefits them and they have studied EVERY LOOPHOLE in your policies, procedures and manuals… they know how to use the system and manipulate others for their own benefit.

2 Peter 2:1a NLT
1a But there were also false prophets in Israel, just as there will be false teachers among you.

FALSE TEACHERS -

2 Peter 2:1b - 4 NLT
1b They will cleverly teach destructive heresies and even deny the Master who bought them. In this way, they will bring sudden destruction on themselves.
2 Many will follow their evil teaching and shameful immorality. And because of these teachers, the way of truth will be slandered.
3 In their greed they will make up clever lies to get hold of your money. But God condemned them long ago, and their destruction will not be delayed.
4 For God did not spare even the angels who sinned. He threw them into hell,[a] in gloomy pits of darkness,[b] where they are being held until the day of judgment.

2 Peter 2:10
10 He is especially hard on those who follow their own twisted sexual desire, and who despise authority. These people are proud and arrogant, daring even to scoff at supernatural beings[c] without so much as trembling.

  • PUSH AGAINST ANYTHING AUTHORITY SAYS
  • PROUD
  • ARROGANT
  • DO NOT BELIEVE CONSEQUENCES ARE FOR THEM

SEDUCE - They will get others to follow them… they will create cliques and groups to support their cause and fight against leadership in any way.

AHAB = a pushover, who wants peace so he does whatever Jezebel wants so the spirit leaves them alone.

ELIJAH = supernaturally assertive. Stands ground. Demands God’s way.

JEZEBEL SPIRIT IS SO RAMPANT IN OUR WORLD THAT YOU FIT ONE OF THESE THREE CATEGORIES:

SOME OF THE PEOPLE are POSSESSED by this spirit .

  • you can’t tell when the spirit ends and they begin. This can even be connected to multiple personality disorder or dissasociative identity disorder.

SOME OF THE PEOPLE YOU MEET ARE OPPRESSED by this spirit - they are mentally, emotionally held down by this spirit who enforces their way of doing things.

  • they get more brain fog…
  • they just seem to get more aggitated with authority and they don’t know why… etc.

SOME PEOPLE ARE LIKE ELIJAH AND ARE BEING STRESSED by the spirit

  • exhausted, attacked, threatened and almost forced to follow…
  • Spiritual battle fatigue… feel exhausted because sometimes you are fighting on your own or against a group
  • TOLERANCE that ALLOWS Jezebels to speak, teach, gossip and attack others….

JEZEBEL IS NOT USUALLY SOMEONE WHO IS POSSESSED.

JEZEBEL IS WITCHCRAFT WITH LIPSTICK…
Witchcraft has three simple points to it: MANIPULATION, INTIMIDATION, DOMINATION.

Matthew 24:4 - 15
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
10 And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)

: 3 LEVELS OF ATTACK BY JEZEBELS :

1. MANIPULATION
1 Timothy 4:1
1 Now the Holy Spirit tells us clearly that in the last times some will turn away from the true faith; they will follow deceptive spirits and teachings that come from demons.

DECEPTIVE = MANIPULATIVE
Manipulation is a form of controlling witchcraft.

JEZEBEL MANIPULATES IN WHISPERS
SLANDER is a form of manipulation in whispers… can also be called GOSSIP.

2. INTIMIDATION
Gossip will fly in order to intimidate leaders to be quiet…DEMAND EVIDENCE…
It wants to back you down and overwhelm you in order to get you to submit to a demonic order.

1 Peter 5:8
8 Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:

ROARING LION = TO INDIMIDATE...

3. DOMINATION
JEZEBEL WILL BE LOUD, OBNOXIOUS AND DEMAND THAT THEIR WAY BE DONE.

  • Force repentance for something that was not done…
  • Force a conversation their way and not allow others to say something.
  • Force their way into a conversation or a problem that they aren’t actually involved in.

When confronted they will throw up a smokescreen by:

  • Playing the victim
    JEZEBEL ALWAYS ACTS AS THE VICTIM - When you are confronting a situation where this demon is moving it will twist and turn in order to keep your spiritual eyes from seeing what is really going on.

Matthew 7:15
15 Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves.

Sheep = defenseless victim. Sheep is getting everyone to hear their side of the sob story.

Having an emotional outburst to

  • distract
  • disturb
  • distrupt

DO NOT ALLOW AN EMOTIONAL OUTBURST
The enemy sends distraction in order to stall out your breakthrough and dilute your spiritual clarity. Strive to focus on what’s important.

YOU CAN LOVE AND NOT ALLOW SOMEONE TO DOMINATE A MOMENT.

32 And the spirits of prophets are subject to prophets.

Bringing accusation

10 The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have and enjoy life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].

44 For you are the children of your father the devil, and you love to do the evil things he does. He was a murderer from the beginning. He has always hated the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he lies, it is consistent with his character; for he is a liar and the father of lies.

19b “…do not associate with a gossip.”

13 And withal they learn to be idle, wandering about from house to house; and not only idle, but tattlers also and busybodies, speaking things which they ought not.

6 THINGS JEZEBEL TRIES TO CONTROL AND 3 WAYS WE DEFEAT IT:

1. RELATIONSHIPS – people, friend groups, families, work groups, church groups.

  • BE QUICK TO SEE PEOPLE WHO ARE ALONE AND ENGAGE THEM.
  • NOTICE WHEN JEZEBELS ARE CREATING CLIQUES AND GROUPS FOR GOSSIP AND COMPLAINT MEETINGS.
  • GET OUT OF RELATIONSHIPS OR GROUPS THAT ARE NOT EXHIBITING THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT.
  • PRAY FOR THE DISMANTLING OF FRIENDSHIPS AND ALLIANCES THAT ARE PURPOSED FOR DESTRUCTION.

DISCERN

  • any group that is created or centered around being AGAINST
  • a particular person… or COMPLAINING about a particular institution - is influenced or ruled by a JEZEBEL.
  • TOXIC LOYALTY puts you in positions

DECREE

  • You have to SPEAK.
  • I WILL NOT BE INTIMIDATED! So I will not be MANIPULATED
  • I am as bold as a lion! I am the righteousness of God in Christ Jesus!
  • YOU MUST SPEAK INTO YOUR IDENTITY!

DISMANTLE - It takes BOLDNESS and WISDOM to dismantle Jezebels in groups.

  • Call out lies that are spoken or whispered in secret.
  • Look for open doors to speak to those blinded.
  • If you have the ability and authority, separate the people who are causing issues.

Matthew 18:15
15 If another believer sins against you, go privately and point out the offense. If the other person listens and confesses it, you have won that person back.

  • PRIVATELY
  • PERSONALLY
  • PROACTIVELY

2. GOVERNANCE

  • THEY WANT TO BE INVOLVED IN EVERYTHING… BUT FIGHT WHENEVER THEIR WAY IS NOT BEING DONE.
  • THEY WANT SPECIAL SEATS, SPECIAL PRIVILEDGES AND SPECIAL TREATMENT.

DISCERN

  • anyone who comes to you and everytime they complain…
    anyone who wants to be in charge, but doesn’t do the work in the end…

DECREE

  • I am wise as a serpent and innocent as a dove.
  • I see through lies and manipulation / intimidation.
  • The Holy Spirit teaches me all things and opens my eyes to lies.

DISMANTLE

  • People who are fighting for recognition, position or their way being done must be sat down.
  • FRIENDS who only want things done their way need to be spoken to in love… but not allowed to ONLY do things their way.
  • YOUTH who demand their way being done must be disciplined and not allowed entrance to an evil spirit.

3. CONVERSATIONS – The Jezebel (he or she) does the talking.

DISCERN

  • (Last Word) When you cannot get a word in until they feel like they have said what they need to say to damage you or manipulate the situation or conversation to their advantage…you are not obligated to continue the conversation.

DECREE

  • I am bold, I am wise, I will not allow others to talk over me or talk against my character or my anointing.

DISMANTLE

  • REFUSE to allow others to emotionally, vocally or physically dominate a conversation.

  • Do not match their emotional level.

  • End the conversation if you need to.

4. INFORMATION – Naboth, collecting information but not sharing it.

DISCERN

  • You have NO REASON to believe ANYTHING someone says without evidence.
  • Fear…. FALSE EVIDENCE APPEARING REAL.

DECREE

  • The Holy Spirit guides my understanding.
  • I have no need for man to teach me, Holy Spirit will reveal to me.

DISMANTLE

  • Demand evidence of this or it is an accusation that is unfounded.
  • DO NOT ALLOW OTHERS TO SPEAK AGAINST YOU OR ANYONE ELSE WITH NO EVIDENCE.
