Taking it further to help you THRIVE…

THRIVE Groups are where life and growth take place. We don’t want to just say “See you next week” as we leave each Sunday - we want to connect!
For more info on joining a THRIVE Group, visit thrivekg.org/thrive-groups.

1. Looking back at your notes from this week’s teaching, was there anything that particularly caught your attention, challenged, or confused you?

2. Why do you think Nathan told David a story instead of just plainly telling him about his sin? How do stories fit into the mission to which God has called us?

3. If you were given the responsibility of confronting the king one-on-one regarding his sins, how might you respond? Would it be easy or difficult? Why?

4. When confronting a brother or sister in Christ who is involved in sin, what are some important things to remember? What should we say / do? Not say / do? (Share some verses from Scripture that talk about approaching such individuals and the manner in which we are to do it.)

5. Some people (even Christians) say, “I don’t think it’s anyone’s business what I do in my life.” Is this true? How? How not? How are we tempted to respond when someone confronts us about a wrong we have done (whether it was toward them personally or otherwise)? Why do we respond that way?

6. In what ways did God show His mercy in the midst of judgment? David wrote Psalm 51 in response to the revealing of his sin. What do we learn from this Psalm about confessing, repenting, and receiving mercy and grace? (So, what is the difference between mercy and grace?)
