If We Are Going To Stick Together…
1) We Have to Build on the Right Foundation
Philippians 2:1
“Therefore if you have any encouragement from being united with Christ, if any comfort from his love, if any common sharing in the Spirit, if any tenderness and compassion,”
2) We Have to Pursue Unity
Philippians 2:2
“Then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit, and of one mind.”
- Be like-minded.
Philippians 2:5-8
“In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death— even death on a cross.”
- Have the same love.
John 13:35
“By this everyone will know that you are my disciples if you love one another.”
- Be one in spirit.
- Be of one mind.
Romans 14:19
“So then let us pursue what makes for peace and for mutual upbuilding.”
3) We Have to Work Together
Philippians 2:3-4
“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.”
We have to say no to:
Selfish ambition
Vain conceit
We have to say yes to:
- The importance of others
- The interest of others

1 Peter 5:5-6
“In the same way, you who are younger submit yourselves to your elders. All of you clothe yourselves with humility toward one another, because, “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.” Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time.”
