The Problem
Sin
When the Lord saw that human wickedness was widespread on the earth and that every inclination of the human mind was nothing but evil all the time, —Genesis 6:5
the Lord regretted that he had made man on the earth, and he was deeply grieved. —Genesis 6:6
Then the Lord said, “I will wipe mankind, whom I created, off the face of the earth, together with the animals, creatures that crawl, and birds of the sky—for I regret that I made them.” —Genesis 6:7
But I will establish my covenant with you, and you will enter the ark with your sons, your wife, and your sons’ wives. —Genesis 6:18
God Will Never Allow the Wickedness of Mankind to Stop His Plan to Redeem
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
20 Then Noah built an altar to the Lord. He took some of every kind of clean animal and every kind of clean bird and offered burnt offerings on the altar. 21 When the Lord smelled the pleasing aroma, he said to himself, “I will never again curse the ground because of human beings, even though the inclination of the human heart is evil from youth onward. And I will never again strike down every living thing as I have done. —Genesis 8:20-21
The Ark Didn’t Fix the Problem
God Takes Sin Seriously
Sin is Deadly
43 “And if your hand causes you to fall away, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life maimed than to have two hands and go to hell, the unquenchable fire. 45 And if your foot causes you to fall away, cut it off. It is better for you to enter life lame than to have two feet and be thrown into hell. 47 And if your eye causes you to fall away, gouge it out. It is better for you to enter the kingdom of God with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into hell, 48 where their worm does not die, and the fire is not quenched. —Mark 9:43-48
MERRY CHRISTMAS!
We Need a Better Ark
9 How much more then, since we have now been justified by his blood, will we be saved through him from wrath. —Romans 5:9
I give them eternal life, and they will never perish. No one will snatch them out of my hand. —John 10:28
For God loved the world in this way: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. —John 3:16
We HAVE JESUS!
