09/28-09/29: THE CLEATS OF PEACE - Ephesians 6:15
September 30, 2024

A YEAR OF PRAYER

A PRAYER TO STAND FIRM IN THE BATTLE

Standing firm in the battle with the full armor of God

10  Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might.
11  Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
12  For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places.
13  Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
14  Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness. —Ephesians 6:10 - 14

THE CLEATS OF PEACE

And having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; —Ephesians 6:15

And having shod your feet in preparation [to face the enemy with the firm-footed stability, the promptness, and the readiness produced by the good news] of the Gospel of peace. —Ephesians 6:15 (AMPC)

1. The courage to stand firm with the cleats of the Gospel of peace is only found in the power of the cross.

But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. —Isaiah 53:5

Now Amalek came and fought with Israel in Rephidim. —Exodus 17:8

15  And Moses built an altar and called its name, The-Lord-Is-My-Banner;
16  for he said, “Because the Lord has sworn: the Lord will have war with Amalek from generation to generation.” —Exodus 17:15 - 16

JEHOVAH NISSI: OUR BANNER AND OUR STANDARD “INSIGNIA”

“INSIGNIA” Defined: Distinguishing marks of authority, office, or honor; badges; tokens; decorations; as, the insignia of royalty or of an order.

So shall they fear the name of the Lord from the west, and His glory from the rising of the sun; when the enemy comes in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord will lift up a standard against him. —Isaiah 59:19

—Ephesians 6:10 - 12

Peace by Position

Buried with Him in baptism, in which you also were raised with Him through faith in the working of God, who raised Him from the dead. —Colossians 2:12

Peace With Your Past

And you, being dead in your trespasses and the uncircumcision of your flesh, He has made alive together with Him, having forgiven you all trespasses, —Colossians 2:13

Peace Without Performance

Having disarmed principalities and powers, He made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them in it. —Colossians 2:15

Then Jesus made a public spectacle of all the powers and principalities of darkness, stripping away from them every weapon and all their spiritual authority and power to accuse us. And by the power of the cross, Jesus led them around as prisoners in a procession of triumph. He was not their prisoner; they were his! —Colossians 2:15 (TPT)

Think of it! All sins forgiven, the slate wiped clean, that old arrest warrant canceled and nailed to Christ’s cross. He stripped all the spiritual tyrants in the universe of their sham authority at the Cross and marched them naked through the streets. —Colossians 2:15 (MSG)

  1. To stand firm with the cleats of the Gospel of peace is a choice we make.

Peace I leave with you, My peace I give to you; not as the world gives do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. —John 14:27

And let the peace of God rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful. —Colossians 3:15

Now may the Lord of peace Himself give you peace always in every way. The Lord be with you all. —2 thessalonians 3:16

3. Standing firm in the cleats of the Gospel of peace has a methodology.

The things which you learned and received and heard and saw in me, these do, and the God of peace will be with you. —Philippians 4:9

Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! —Philippians 4:4

Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. —Philippians 4:5

Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. —Philippians 4:6

And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. —Philippians 4:7

Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things. —Philippians 4:8
