Our Father, People of Prayer | Part 3 - Your Kingdom Come

June 8, 2025

  • The book of Acts is the story of a people of . It’s the story of a people that learned to pray like Jesus.
  • 25 of the 28 chapters in Acts focus on what happens when believers pray.

Even them I will bring to My holy mountain,
And make them joyful in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and their sacrifices
Will be accepted on My altar;
For My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations.” —Isaiah 56:7

9 Our Father in heaven,
Hallowed be Your name.
10 Your kingdom come.
Your will be done
On earth as it is in heaven.
11 Give us this day our daily bread.
12 And forgive us our debts,
As we forgive our debtors.
13 And do not lead us into temptation,
But deliver us from the evil one.
For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen. —Matthew 6:9-13 NKJV

  • “Our Father in heaven” - identity, connection, closeness.
  • “Hallowed be Your name - reverence and worship.
  • In Matthew 6:9, we see closeness reverence.

1. Your Kingdom .

  • The kingdom of God is the realm of God’s rule. It’s the King’s domain.

A. Jesus said the kingdom is

you.

From that time Jesus began to preach and to say, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand. —Matthew 4:17

B. Jesus said the kingdom of God does not come by observation; it’s

you.

Now when He was asked by the Pharisees when the kingdom of God would come, He answered them and said, “The kingdom of God does not come with observation; 21 nor will they say, ‘See here!’ or ‘See there!’ For indeed, the kingdom of God is within you.” —Luke 17:20-21

  • The kingdom comes spiritually before it come naturally. 1st coming of Christ, spiritual. 2nd coming of Christ, physical.

C. My kingdom is not

this world.

Jesus answered, “My kingdom is not of this world. If My kingdom were of this world, My servants would fight, so that I should not be delivered to the Jews; but now My kingdom is not from here.” —John 18:36

D. We are to seek the kingdom of God

.

But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. —Matthew 6:33

More on the Kingdom of God
- Jesus said” if I cast out demons by the Spirit of God, surely the kingdom of God has come upon you”. (Matthew 12:28)

  • His kingdom is righteousness, peace, and

in the Holy Spirit. (Romans 14:17)

  • His kingdom is everlasting (Psalm 145:13), and it’s ever-increasing (Isaiah 9:7).

  • You can’t have the kingdom

    the king.

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me; 5 for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.” 6 Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority. 8 But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth. —Acts 1:4-8

2. Your will be .

  • God’s will is revealed in His Word. The is in His Word - IT IS WRITTEN.

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come. —Matthew 24:14

The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. —2 Peter 3:9

3. On earth, it is in heaven.

  • Pray Your reign, the realm of Your rule come

    as it is THERE.

  • Every time we pray this prayer, we are reconnecting with this

    and mandate.
