Psalm 124

Why not serve Jesus only when it is easy?

Jesus is Not

it or not, it or not, we are at !

from , there is no in life.

Acknowledging our “

His is Not

By

, Jesus for us with authority.

His power to

any is available by .

for keeps real in the battle.

Next steps:

Review and reflect on the spiritual “battles” you have survived.
Articulate how Jesus protected and/or preserved you and worship him accordingly.
Evaluate your life presently on the basis of the past:
o Are you still following Jesus or is he calling you to return to him?
o Have you ever followed Jesus or is he inviting you to do so now?

Journey Group Discussion Questions:
How would you finish the statement “If the Lord had not been on our/my side” … ? What has God done to preserve or save you?

We should be prudent and wise physically, emotionally, and spiritually, but we can only do so much to remain safe without giving up the life God has given us. For example, one can give up exercising out of the fear of injury only to become less healthy. What threats, concerns, or anxieties do you need to leave to God in order to experience his extravagant life?
