Sermon Title: “Skin In The Game”
Scripture: Luke 10:33-35 (NIV)
INTRO: To have “skin in the game” means that you are
HOW DO WE PUT SKIN IN THE GAME
1. Stop What You Are Doing and
this will probably be an interruption
it may very well be an inconvenience
the Samaritan didn’t wait for the victim to ask for help
2. Look for

this is triage: assess the urgency of the need to see what is required for treatment
stop the bleeding, bandage the wound

oil & wine were used as antibacterial medicines
spiritually: oil represents the Holy Spirit
spiritually: wine represents the blood of the New Covenant

as a church body we can provide intensive care
many can do MORE than one
ministry is a team sport
5. Healing Often Requires
the Samaritan gave his time, energy, and finances
he did for one, what we wish we could do for all
Jesus made the supreme sacrifice when he gave his life for our ultimate healing
6. Know Your
the Samaritan left the next day after getting the victim to the inn
understand that we can only do so much
we still must provide for our families
CLOSE: People need to know how much we
HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT: How are you putting “skin in the game?” Look for someone who has a need this week and then get involved and help meet that need.
