Hebrews 12:1-2a “Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus, the Champion who initiates and perfects our faith.”

Be That Somebody Who Runs
Hebrews 12:1b “And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.”

a) Run To Win

1 Corinthians 15:57 “Thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.”

b) Run With Discipline
1 Corinthians 9:25 “All athletes are disciplined in their training. They do it to win a prize that will fade away, but we do it for an eternal prize.”
Hebrews 12:1 “…let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up.”

c) Run With Purpose
1 Corinthians 9:26 “I run with purpose in every step.”
Philippians 2:16 “Hold firmly to the word of life; then, on the day of Christ’s return, I will be proud that I did not run the race in vain…”

d) Run With Focus
Philippians 3:12-14 “I don’t mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. …I have not achieved it, but I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead, I press on to reach the end of the race and receive the heavenly prize for which God, through Christ Jesus, is calling us.”
Hebrews 12:1b-2a “…let us run with endurance the race God has set before us. We do this by keeping our eyes on Jesus…”

e) Run To Finish
Galatians 6:9 “Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up.”
2 Timothy 4:7-8 “I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, and I have remained faithful. And now the prize awaits me - the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give me on the day of His return. And the prize is not just for me but for all who eagerly look forward to His appearing.”
