TEXT: 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2, 9-12
4 Finally, then, brothers, we ask and urge you in the Lord Jesus, that as you received from us how you ought to walk and to please God, just as you are doing, that you do so more and more. 2 For you know what instructions we gave you through the Lord Jesus. - 1 Thessalonians 4:1-2
Is living to please God truly your goal in life?
If anyone would come after me, let him deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. – Luke 9:23
9 Now concerning brotherly love you have no need for anyone to write to you, for you yourselves have been taught by God to love one another, 10 for that indeed is what you are doing to all the brothers throughout Macedonia. But we urge you, brothers, to do this more and more, 11 and to aspire to live quietly, and to mind your own affairs, and to work with your hands, as we instructed you, 12 so that you may walk properly before outsiders and be dependent on no one. –
1 Thessalonians 4:9-12
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another. - John 13:34-35
Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you. - Ephesians 4:32

Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves. - Philippians 2:3
Brothers, if anyone is caught in any transgression, you who are spiritual should restore him in a spirit of gentleness. Keep watch on yourself, lest you too be tempted. Bear one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. - Galatians 6:1-2
…but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. - Romans 5:8
*Anyone who does not love does not know God, because God is love. *- 1 John 4:8
…that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior. - 1 Timothy 2:2-3

If anyone is not willing to work, let him not eat. For we hear that some among you walk in idleness, not busy at work, but busybodies.* - 2 Thessalonians 3:10-11
