Maturing In Christ

  1. Change comes FIRST by

of truth, then by a to TRUST the Holy Spirit to help us change.

  2. Paul first expressed that the FRUIT of the FLESH is seen as having NO SELF CONTROL, but the FRUIT of the SPIRIT is having FULL SELF CONTROL

    by the Holy Spirit.

  3. We are expected to grow in love which is manifested in joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, long suffering, and self-control; but we must realize that everyone is at different levels and

    at their own pace.

  4. The Apostle Paul says to produce

, we need to grow up.

  5. Truth spoken in love is the major ingredient required if we want to see fruit that

    .

  6. We can experience the fruit of the flesh or the fruit of the spirit, but the

of our heart is what makes the difference.

  7. According to Galatians 5, Paul focuses on “

” which is not the display of the GIFTS of the Spirit, but the FRUIT of the Spirit.

  8. Without love, faith cannot produce

    of the Spirit.

  9. We, the Body of Christ, are to be the

    of Jesus Christ.

  10. When the Word says, “Love always perseveres,” it literally means to hang in there with others in long-term relationships. After all, we’re going to spend

with each other, so we might as well get along now.

  11. Four things to do when you realize that you have been UNLOVING to others:

1)

it, put it under the Blood of Jesus, and stop making excuses and blaming others for your actions.

2)

the Bible and ask God to do what Paul said in Romans 5:5 which is to pour out his love in your heart by the Holy Spirit.

3) Ask God to help you love them, especially when they seem to be

.
THEN:
4) your attitude and actions towards them.

  1. We are far more to act our way into feeling, than to feel our way into acting.

Closing Scripture:
1 John 4:7-9 My beloved friends, let us continue to love each other since love comes from God. Everyone who loves is

of God and experiences a relationship with God. 8 The person who refuses to love doesn’t know the first thing about God, because God is love — so you can’t know Him if you don’t love. 9 This is how God showed His love for us: God sent his only Son into the world so we might through Him.
