WELCOME ONE ANOTHER || ROMANS 15:7-12

In this New Year sermon series entitled, “One Another,” we are going to dive into what the Bible has to say about the necessity of one another in the community of God that will enable us to thrive every step of our hike through life. We begin with what the Bible teaches about us welcoming one another.

CHRIST WELCOMING ALL

“Therefore,

each other just as Christ has accepted so that God will be given glory. Remember that Christ came as a servant to the Jews to show that God is true to the promises he made to their ancestors. He also came so that the Gentiles might give glory to God for his mercies to them. That is what the psalmist meant when he wrote: ‘For this, I will praise you among the Gentiles; I will sing praises to your name.’ And in another place it is written, ‘Rejoice with his people, you Gentiles.’ And yet again, ‘Praise the Lord, all you Gentiles. Praise him, all you people of the earth.’ And in another place Isaiah said, ‘The heir to David’s throne will come, and he will rule over the Gentiles. They will place their hope on him.’” —Romans 15:7-12 (NLT)

“But to

who believed him and accepted him, he gave the right to become children of God.” —John 1:12 (NLT)

US WELCOMING ONE ANOTHER

Romans then tells us that now that we have been welcomed into the family by God’s grace, we are to show that same grace and accept and welcome all into the family of God.

Welcoming one another means making room for one another, continually making each other feel at home in the family.
