Blessed to bless
How do we become generous givers?
Why did God create giving?
God is after your money. If god can get to your finances he can get to your heart. Where your treasure is there your heart will be also. Mat. 6:21
Your heart follows your treasure. (Stocks) if you want your heart in the kingdom, put your treasure there.
The heart issue:
Deuteronomy 15 7-10- Deal with the heart (selfishness is wickedness)
- Grieving heart (after giving)
Cash example (earth is the lords and fullness) - Develop a generous heart
V14 Ephesians 4:28 - Develop a great full heart
V15 remember what god has done
The test
- Malachi 3:6-12 tithing is an ordinary principle of the children of God
(Christians can be under a curse) - Tithing is a test of your heart. Why did he chose 10%? (How many plagues, commandments, how many times did god test Israel in the wilderness, how many virgins were tested in Matthew 25? How many days of testing in revelation, how many disciples?) it’s a two way test he wants to bless us but it’s up to us.
- Malachi 3:6-12 tithing is an ordinary principle of the children of God
The principle of first
- First born must be sacrificed or redeemed
Ex 13 - The first fruits must be offered
Prov. 3 9-10 ex 23:19
Tithes must be brought to the church
You have 2 choices when it comes to the tithe, you can bring it or steal it.
Why did God except ables offering but not canes?
Gen 4:5 In the process of time.
- First born must be sacrificed or redeemed
Principle of multiplication
- Something must be blessed before it can multiply: Luke 9:12-17
Most people never see their finances multiply because the money hasn’t been blessed, when you give to God first then the rest of it is blessed. - Only what is given away can be multiplied.
There is a difference between tithing and giving, tithing is simply returning what is gods, so in order to see the principle of multiplication you must be giving beyond the tithe. Malachi 3 mentions both tithes and offerings.
- Something must be blessed before it can multiply: Luke 9:12-17
