True Values

God’s values and His Kingdom are unshakable, unlike the shifting values of culture.

Hebrews 12:28
Therefore, let us be grateful for receiving a kingdom that cannot be shaken, and thus let us offer to God acceptable worship, with reverence and awe.

Matthew 6:21
For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
What you value will become the essence of you. It determines what you pursue, protect, and prioritize.
Your Values are the ingredients that make up your navigational system.

Philippians 1:9-11 NLT
I pray that your love will overflow more and more, and that you will keep on growing in knowledge and understanding. 10 For I want you to understand what really matters, so that you may live pure and blameless lives until the day of Christ’s return. 11 May you always be filled with the fruit of your salvation—the righteous character produced in your life by Jesus Christ[a]—for this will bring much glory and praise to God.

Acts 20:24
24 But I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus, to testify to the gospel of the grace of God.

Your values affect your……
Character. Roles. Mission. Passions. Decisions. Responses.

*“I so desire to conduct the affairs of this administration properly that if at the end, when I come to lay down the reins of power, if I’ve have lost every other friend on earth, I shall at least have one friend left, and that friend shall be the one down inside of me.” - Abraham Lincoln *

The source of our values matters.
You didn’t invent your values—they were shaped by someone or something.

Are they strong enough to hold when life shakes?

Matthew 7:24-2724 “Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. 26 And everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. 27 And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell, and great was the fall of it.”
US withstanding thee storms of life is not a comprehension issue, but a choice issue. They both heard His words and both had a chance to build rightly.

Building Your Life on Strong Values

Define them – What values matter most to you?

Write them down – Make them visible.

Pray them over your life/family – Ask for strength to live by them.

Live them daily – Culture and crisis will test them.

Die with them – Your Values are your legacy.

Philippians 2:16
16 holding fast to the word of life, so that in the day of Christ I may be proud that I did not run in vain or labor in vain.
