I AM…Leading - Message Study Questions
Message Summary
We all have “then stories,” those times when God made a way when there seemed no way. But some of us are still living in our now story, desperately waiting for our then story. If you demonstrate faith now, then God will lead you. If you trust God, he will lead you in His perfect timing. You need to pause, listen, and eagerly expect Him to provide for you. Often when God leads, he leads you in a way and direction you never anticipated. That’s how God works. God rescued the Israelites from the Egyptian army when they were cornered against the Red Sea. When God performed this mighty act of parting the Red Sea, the Israelites had their then moment; they revered and put their trust in God. For us too, our “then” moments should always be faith builders. Therefore, always remember those times when God made a way for you and give thanks, as this is God’s will for you (1 Thessalonians 5:18). In the now, determine to trust in God no matter what; and wait, listen, and look for God’s provision.
Do you feel like you are in a waiting season right now?
Can you share a saying or tradition that your parents taught you growing up? How does it affect your life today?
Consider This
If you’re waiting for your “then” moment, keep trusting God to provide the right answer. In His divine timing, He will. He may provide in a way you never expected or anticipated. God always has a third option that we cannot conceive. When you let God lead you, He promises to provide for you.

God speaks to us through His word, the Bible. What happens when we meditate on God’s word in Psalm 1:2-3?
Read Exodus 13:8-10.

God supernaturally used a pillar of fire and cloud to lead the two million Israelites after they left Egypt. List ways that God leads his people today?

Moving Forward – Application
What obstacles are you facing that you could double down on your trust in God for his provision this week?
Will you share a “then” story of how God provided for you this week? Sometimes it is good to write these things down. It will help you to remember, encourage you through your next “now” moment, and make it easier to pass the story along to others.
What else can you do this week to remember and include God in your life?
Make a list of the things you are most thankful for and think about God’s part in that.
How can you teach your children to remember and trust in God this week? Could you incorporate new traditions into your family? Could you put a new emphasis on the meaning of celebrating the Lord’s Supper?
What fears do you need to give to God this week? Will you?
How can you “listen” to God today?
