1 Peter 1:13-25


You should be different from the world because you different hope.

You should live a holy life because your God is holy.

You should live holy at any cost because Jesus saved you at great cost.

You should ground your holy life in God’s Holy Word.

What comes to mind when you think of the word holy?

Have you ever asked the question, “Is it worth trying to live like Jesus if Jesus is going to allow this to happen?”

For the most part, do the Christians you know embrace the world, separate from the world, or engage the world?

Why do you think both Peter (1Pet. 1:13-14) and Paul (Rom. 12:1-2) reference our minds when calling us to “not be conformed?”

Read Isaiah 6:1-4. Describe from this passage how God is holy? In what way is he different from us? Can you try to describe the scene in your own words?

Thinking about Jesus as our example, in what ways should Christians be different than the world?

How would your family describe you? How would your coworkers describe you? Are you distinct?

How might you describe the cost of Jesus’ sacrifice to someone who is not a Christian?

Describe how you study the Bible.

How influential is God’s Word in your daily life?
