DQ: The Poet's Journal - Pt. 9
October 6, 2024

INTRODUCE: Describe the perfect day to relax and feel rejuvenated.

READ: Psalm 119:121-126 & 136, Revelations 6:9-10

Begin the time by praying together.

DISCUSS:
1. Fannie Lou Hamer was an activist who was imprisoned. She was the one who said, “ I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.” Describe a time that you felt this way.
2. “I am your servant but your servant is tired.” Have you ever prayed this to God? What was the result?
3. In Psalm 119:126, it says “It is time for you to act, Lord,” when have you prayed this and what was the result or how are you praying for this now?
4. When have you grown weary of doing good? How did you find rest for your soul?
5. Rhythms of rest: Selah (pause, rest, reflect), Sabbath, Sabbatical, and Sleep. How do you make time and space for these in your life? Which is the most challenging for you to do?
6. His mercy is always available to you? What would or could it look like to experience God’s mercy?
7. Pastor Robert said, “Jesus desires to be your rest.” What does that look like in your life?

PRAYER: Lord, may we find our rest in You. May you give us the strength to serve and honor You and to listen to when it is time to rest our weary souls.
