Dear friends, let us continue to love one another, for love comes from God. Anyone who loves is a child of God and knows God. But anyone who does not love does not know God, for God is love. —I John 4:7-8

But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners. —Romans 5:8

Love is patient and kind. Love is not jealous or boastful or proud or rude. It does not demand its own way. It is not irritable, and it keeps no record of being wronged. It does not rejoice about injustice but rejoices whenever the truth wins out. Love never gives up, never loses faith, is always hopeful, and endures through every circumstance. —I Corinthians 13:4-7

Love is Patient.

Patience: An ability or willingness to suppress restlessness or annoyance when confronted with delay.

We also pray that you will be strengthened with all his glorious power so you will have all the endurance and patience you need. —Colossians 1:11

Love Perseveres.

Perseverance: A steady persistence in a course of action, in spite of difficulties, obstacles, or discouragement.

We can rejoice, too, when we run into problems and trials, for we know that they help us develop endurance. And endurance develops strength of character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. And this hope will not lead to disappointment. For we know how dearly God loves us, because he has given us the Holy Spirit to fill our hearts with his love. —Romans 5:3-5

Love is Not Prideful.

Don’t be selfish; don’t try to impress others. Be humble, thinking of others as better than yourselves. Don’t look out only for your own interests, but take an interest in others, too. You must have the same attitude that Christ Jesus had. —Philippians 2:3-5
