RESURRECTION REVELATIONS
Easter 2024

Matthew 28:1 (NLT) Early on Sunday morning, as the new day was dawning, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary went out to visit the tomb.

Matthew 27:55-56 (NLT) And many women who had come from Galilee with Jesus to care for him were watching from a distance. 56 Among them were Mary Magdalene, Mary (the mother of James and Joseph), and the mother of James and John, the sons of Zebedee.

Matthew 28:2-4 (NLT) Suddenly there was a great earthquake! For an angel of the Lord came down from heaven, rolled aside the stone, and sat on it. 3 His face shone like lightning, and his clothing was as white as snow. 4 The guards shook with fear when they saw him, and they fell into a dead faint.

Matthew 28:5-7 (NLT) Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. 6 He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. 7 And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.”

Matthew 26:32 (NLT) But after I have been raised from the dead, I will go ahead of you to Galilee and meet you there.”

Matthew 28:8-10 (NLT) The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message. 9 And as they went, Jesus met them and greeted them. And they ran to him, grasped his feet, and worshiped him. 10 Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

RESURRECTION REVELATIONS

1. God’s Power

JESUS CONQUERED DEATH.

Matthew 28:5 (NLT) Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified.

Matthew 28:6 (NLT) He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.

JESUS GIVES US LIFE.

Ephesians 1:19-20 (NLT) I also pray that you will understand the incredible greatness of God’s power for us who believe Him. This is the same mighty power 20 that raised Christ from the dead and seated Him in the place of honor at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.

Easter is a Reminder of God’s Great Resurrection Power.

IF GOD HAS RESURRECTION POWER, THEN WE SHOULD PRAISE HIM.

THAT IS WHY WE CALL JESUS GOD.

2. God’s Plan

Matthew 28:6 (NLT) He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying.

Matthew 16:21 (NLT) From then on Jesus began to tell his disciples plainly that it was necessary for Him to go to Jerusalem, and that He would suffer many terrible things at the hands of the elders, the leading priests, and the teachers of religious law. He would be killed, but on the third day He would be raised from the dead.

Matthew 1:23 (NLT)
23 “Look! The virgin will conceive a child!
She will give birth to a son,
and they will call Him, Immanuel,
which means ‘God is with us.’”

Romans 5:8 (NLT) But God showed his great love for us by sending Christ to die for us while we were still sinners.

GOD HAS A PLAN.

Matthew 27:59-61 (NLT) Joseph took the body and wrapped it in a long sheet of clean linen cloth. 60 He placed it in his own new tomb, which had been carved out of the rock. Then he rolled a great stone across the entrance and left. 61 Both Mary Magdalene and the other Mary were sitting across from the tomb and watching.

Believe that after the loss there will be life.

Sometimes we confuse the seed for the fruit.

Matthew 28:10 (NLT) Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

We do not need to fear because God is with us.

We do not need to fear because God is working.

IF GOD HAS A DIVINE PLAN, THEN YOU CAN TRUST HIM.

THAT IS WHY WE CALL JESUS OUR SAVIOR.

Romans 5:9-11 (NLT) And since we have been made right in God’s sight by the blood of Christ, he will certainly save us from God’s condemnation. 10 For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. 11 So now we can rejoice in our wonderful new relationship with God because our Lord Jesus Christ has made us friends of God.

3. God’s Purpose

Matthew 28:7 (NLT) And now, go quickly and tell his disciples that he has risen from the dead, and he is going ahead of you to Galilee. You will see him there. Remember what I have told you.”

Matthew 28:10 (NLT) Then Jesus said to them, “Don’t be afraid! Go tell my brothers to leave for Galilee, and they will see me there.”

BECAUSE OF THE RESURRECTION, YOUR LIFE HAS A PURPOSE.

Matthew 28:19-20 (NLT) Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. 20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.

Ephesians 2:10 (NLT) For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.

Matthew 28:8 (NLT) The women ran quickly from the tomb. They were very frightened but also filled with great joy, and they rushed to give the disciples the angel’s message.

Hebrews 13:20-21 (NLT)
20 Now may the God of peace—
who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus,
the great Shepherd of the sheep,
and ratified an eternal covenant with his blood—
21 may he equip you with all you need
for doing his will.
May he produce in you,
through the power of Jesus Christ,
every good thing that is pleasing to him.
All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

God has the power and the plan to accomplish His purpose in your life.

Romans 8:11 (NLT) The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you. And just as God raised Christ Jesus from the dead, he will give life to your mortal bodies by this same Spirit living within you.

IF GOD HAS A PURPOSE FOR YOUR LIFE, THEN YOU CAN LIVE LIFE TO THE FULL.

THAT IS WHY WE CALL JESUS OUR LORD.

Romans 10:9-10 (NLT) If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.
