You Are Still On The Fastest Route
13 Enter through the narrow gate; for wide is the gate and spacious and broad is the way that leads away to destruction, and many are those who are entering through it. 14 But the gate is narrow (contracted [k]by pressure) and the way is straitened and compressed that leads away to life, and few are those who find it.
Matthew 7:13-14 AMPC
I. WIDE GATE IS REPRESENTED BY:
1) Society’s morality.
2) Self-dependence.
The wide gate is very appealing and desirable however, Jesus says this gate leads to destruction.
II. THE NARROW GATE
The narrow gate has more obstacles and more resistance.
Strive to enter by the narrow door [force yourselves through it], for many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.
Luke 13:14 AMPC
III. GODS “PROTECTIVE CLAUSE” FOR THE “NARROW-GATE WALKERS”:
1. This gate is tough, but this gate leads to life.
2. God promises that He will be with us in every step of the way.
Many evils confront the [consistently] righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.
Psalms 34:19
The steps of a [good and righteous] man are directed and established by the Lord, And He delights in his way [and blesses his path].
Psalms 37:23
The refreshes and restores my soul (life); He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
Psalm 23:3
Even though I walk through the [sunless]valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod [to protect] and Your staff [to guide], they comfort and console me.
Psalms 23:4
