Scripture: Romans 3:1-20
Speaker: Pastor Mark Pospisil
Questions:
Read Romans 3:10-12, and list the things that “no one” is or does (“understands,” etc.). In light of these verses, would you say than humanity is basically good or basically sinful? Why?
According to Romans, what is humanity’s greatest need? What keeps people from seeing their need? Before you came to faith in Jesus, do you remember what kept you from trusting in Him?
People are capable of so much good because we are made in God’s image. But, we are also capable of so much evil, because of sin. What is the idea of original sin and is anybody exempt from that?
As you read Romans 3:10-17, you read how Paul describes some of the actions and behavior of the fallen, broken human condition. Is there one action or behavior in his description that caught your attention? How so?
Romans 3:19 explains that the law is such that when it speaks of God’s righteousness, every mouth is stopped—no defense can be given, and thus the whole world is now guilty and accountable before God. What does that verse say to you about God’s standard of righteousness?
Remembering what Pastor Mark pointed out, what is God’s remedy for this need? Why is God’s remedy the only remedy available to meet man’s greatest need?
