Philippians 1:27-30
27 Whatever happens, conduct yourselves in a manner worthy of the gospel of Christ. Then, whether I come and see you or only hear about you in my absence, I will know that you stand firm in the one Spirit, striving together as one for the faith of the gospel 28 without being frightened in any way by those who oppose you. This is a sign to them that they will be destroyed, but that you will be saved—and that by God. 29 For it has been granted to you on behalf of Christ not only to believe in him, but also to suffer for him, 30 since you are going through the same struggle you saw I had, and now hear that I still have.

TEXT

Philippians 1:27-30

  1. What thoughts or feelings did you have during this week’s sermon?

  2. What four ways has the apostle Paul already instructed the Philippians to “conduct” themselves in partnership with the gospel (refer to 1:3-4, 9-10, 12, & 20, 26)? How has learning about these ways impacted your life/relationship with God?

  3. What three new ways do we learn we are to “conduct” ourselves in verses 27-28? How does unity help Christian’s partner with the gospel? How have you seen disunity hinder partnership with the gospel?

  4. How is suffering a grace from God like the grace of salvation (v. 29)? What does grace have to do with the other seven conducts in chapter one? How can hard times help our relationship with Jesus grow stronger?
