2 Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land.
What does God tell us to do?

James 4:6… “God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.”
Micah 6:8
“…what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
What does it mean to humble yourself?
Hebrew word for humble in 2 chronicles 7:14 is: “kânaʻ”, kaw-nah’;
• to bend the knee—bring down—
• to come up under
• “Change of posture”
Philippians 2:3
3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.
…Rather, in humility value others above yourselves,
Humility - valuing others above yourself
Philippians 2:4-11
4 not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others. 5 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: 6 Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God Something to be used to his own advantage;

What is the reward for humility?

A man’s pride brings him low, but a man of lowly spirit gains honor.

The fear of the LORD teaches a man wisdom, and humility comes before honor.

*Humility* and the fear of the LORD bring wealth and honor and life.
• James 4:6
