Titus 2

Tit 2:1 But speak thou the things which become sound doctrine:
1. In verse 1 Paul is not charging Titus to

sound doctrine.
2. Rather he is telling him to speak the things that sound doctrine.
3. Paul then goes on to outline groups of people and what their lives should poses and reject although many things on this list apply to us all.
Tit 2:2 That the aged men be sober, grave, temperate, sound in faith, in charity, in patience.
4. The older men should be vigilant, honorable and have .
5. They are to be steadfast in matters of faith, and patience.
Tit 2:3 The aged women likewise, that they be in behaviour as becometh holiness, not false accusers, not given to much wine, teachers of good things;
Tit 2:4 That they may teach the young women to be sober, to love their husbands, to love their children,
Tit 2:5 To be discreet, chaste, keepers at home, good, obedient to their own husbands, that the word of God be not blasphemed.
6. Older women are to be examples of to younger women.
7. The concept of false accusing and giving to much wine implies being lead by our .
8. By looking to her example a younger woman should see in her a good and mother.
9. Older women develop a wisdom that conflict and should pass that on to the younger.
10. Older women are to teach the younger women about and cleanliness.
Tit 2:6 Young men likewise exhort to be sober minded.
11. The young man is also being told to walk in .
12. As young men they have to slow down and be quiet.
13. The moral of the story for all four categories is that our will not restrain itself!
Tit 2:7 In all things shewing thyself a pattern of good works: in doctrine shewing uncorruptness, gravity, sincerity,
14. Verse 7 shifts back to Titus .
15. Paul says “ You Titus should be an example of these things!”
Tit 2:8 Sound speech, that cannot be condemned; that he that is of the contrary part may be ashamed, having no evil thing to say of you.
16. The things a pastor says should be so wise, prudent and thought out that if someone were to argue with him they should feel and their accusation made void.
Tit 2:9 Exhort servants to be obedient unto their own masters, and to please them well in all things; not answering again;
Tit 2:10 Not purloining, but shewing all good fidelity; that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Saviour in all things.
17. Although we don’t have in our homes anymore we can still take lesson from verse 9.
18. Just as the servant we should be obedient to our .
19. We should do them to the best of our ability without .
20. We should be honest and even strive to our supervisors.
21. When we do these things we are wearing the of Christ like a coat of many colors.
Tit 2:11 For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all men,
Tit 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
22. Because we have all received Gods grace we all have a to righteousness.
Tit 2:13 Looking for that blessed hope, and the glorious appearing of the great God and our Saviour Jesus Christ;
Tit 2:14 Who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a peculiar people, zealous of good works.
23. We should be living our lives as if Jesus could come back at any because he could!
24. Let’s be a people with a for righteousness and with a joy to honor God with our obedience.
Tit 2:15 These things speak, and exhort, and rebuke with all authority. Let no man despise thee.
25. Finally Paul says not to allow anyone to despise or us for our stand for Christ.
