Today’s Message: ‘The ARRIVAL’

In this series, we’re scripturally unpacking what your ‘life’ focuses need to be in order to position yourself to receive all God has for you in 2020. Our heart is for you to arrive at the end of 2020 completely drenched in His provision and power for your life.
God has SPIRITUAL GIFTS specifically for your life! Those gifts are RELEASED into your life THROUGH the Baptism of the Holy Spirit.
ACTS 1:8 ESV
You will receive power when (you get it) the Holy Spirit comes on you; and (as a result, you’re gonna) you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.” 9 After he said this, he was taken up before their very eyes, and a cloud hid him from their sight.
BIBLICAL THOUGHT —> The last word Christ spoke before he ascended was the word
The baptism of the Holy Spirit gives you EXTRA! It provides you with an ability to take the good news of Jesus to the world!
EXTRA IS IMPORTANT!
LUKE 15:17 KJV
“But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many of the hired servants in my father’s house have bread enough and to spare, and here I perish with hunger! 18 I will arise and go to my father…”“
ACTS 7:60 NIV
Then he fell on his knees and cried out, “Lord, do not hold this sin against them.” When he had said this, he died.
(Thought on the scripture above) –> If you had one last breath to give, would you use it for your own salvation for would you use for the salvation of others?
How to receive the baptism of the Holy Spirit:
- Have a
- Give an
- Know He
We must be careful to keep our hunger in the person of God and not in the things of this world.
HEBREWS 13:14 NLT
For this world is not our permanent home; we are looking forward to a home yet to come.
To get the RIGHT appetites in your life, you need to begin to starving the WRONG ones.
Invite Him to come and He will —> IMMEDIATELY in that moment come upon you. Your responsibility is to INVITE and His responsibility is to RESPOND to your invitation.
ACTS 4:31 ESV
And when (in the moment) they had prayed, the place in which they were gathered together was shaken, and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and continued to speak the word of God with boldness.
ACTS 8:17 NLT
Then Peter and John laid their hands upon these believers, and they received the Holy Spirit.
Don’t over-think it and don’t try and over-feel it. Feelings are never an accurate indicator of experience and can deceive us when attempting to interpret reality.
When you ask for the baptism of the Holy Spirit —> you GOT it!
BIBLE THOUGHT —> There are many views on the manifestations that take place in someone’s life when the baptism of the Holy Spirit comes upon someone. Our position here at Journey rests in the scriptures, which show a variety of manifestations that take place. (Read Acts 2:1-2; Acts 4:31; Acts 8:17; Acts 19:6; 1 Corinthians 12:30)
When you pray for the baptism of the Holy Spirit, you are not seeking an experience with a gift, you’re seeking an experience with the ONE WHO IS THE GIFT!
OUR ROLE —> Let the HOLY SPIRIT be the leader on the arrival of His baptism of your life!
Closing thought…
Be encouraged to begin to express a hunger (in prayer) to God for the Baptism of the Holy Spirit. It is a supernatural infilling of Himself, His power and His blessing that will never run out!
