Be Rich in Action 2024_main_image.png

As for the rich in this present age, charge them not to be haughty, nor to set their hopes on the uncertainty of riches, but on God, who richly provides us with everything to enjoy. They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. —1 TIMOTHY 6:17-19

SET YOUR HOPE ON GOD (v. 17)

Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow due to change. —JAMES 1:17
They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. —1 TIMOTHY 6:17-18

SET APART FOR GENEROSITY (v. 18)

“If then you have not been faithful in the unrighteous wealth, who will entrust to you the true riches?” —LUKE 16:11

GENEROSITY: Joyfully giving our time, energy, efforts, and treasures for the sake of God’s kingdom and not expecting an earthly return.

“For even the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.” —MARK 10:45
Now the full number of those who believed were of one heart and soul, and no one said that any of the things that belonged to him was his own, but they had everything in common. And with great power the apostles were giving their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all. There was not a needy person among them, for as many as were owners of lands or houses sold them and brought the proceeds of what was sold and laid it at the apostles’ feet, and it was distributed to each as any had need.
—ACTS 4:32-35

LIVE A LIFE THAT POINTS TO ETERNITY (v. 19)

Thus storing up treasure for themselves as a good foundation for the future, so that they may take hold of that which is truly life. —1 TIMOTHY 6:19
“Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” —MATTHEW 6:19-21
They are to do good, to be rich in good works, to be generous and ready to share, —1 TIMOTHY 6:18
