GRATITUDE PT 4: GRATITUDE IN OUR WORSHIP
Our most genuine and fitting response to God in every season and circumstance is gratitude
expressed through worship; not just for what He does, but for who He is.
As we embrace who God is, our hearts overflow with gratitude, transforming our daily lives into a continual offering of praise.
GOD’S CHARACTER IS UNCHANGING, AND OUR RESPONSE IS WORSHIP.
God is the one constant we can rely on in a world full of unpredictability.
Psalm 102:25-27 says,
“Of old you laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of your hands. They will perish, but you will remain… you are the same, and your years have no end.”
In acknowledging God’s unchanging nature the psalmist points to Him as the eternal foundation of our lives.
In Hebrews 13:8, we’re reminded,
“Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.”
When We Worship God For His Unchanging nature, we practice consistency in our devotion to Him.
GOD’S LOVE IS STEADFAST AND PERFECT, AND OUR RESPONSE IS WORSHIP.
As we grasp the depth of this love, our response becomes worship; a love returned to Him through our devotion and praise.
Psalm 136:1 encourages us,
“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever.”
Paul echoes this truth in Romans 8:38-39, where he writes,
“For I am sure that… nothing will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
When we embrace His love fully we begin to see others through His eyes and extend that same love to them.
Our response to His love becomes a living testimony of that love in our communities.
GOD’S PRESENCE IS CONSTANT, GUIDING US THROUGH EVERY SEASON, AND OUR RESPONSE IS WORSHIP.
One of the greatest reasons for our gratitude and worship is the assurance that God’s
presence is always with us.
In Psalm 139:7-10, David writes,
“Where shall I go from your Spirit? Or where shall I flee from your presence?… If I take the wings of the morning and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea, even there your hand shall lead me.”
Similarly, Jesus promises in Matthew 28:20,
“And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
This assurance that Christ’s Spirit remains with us gives us strength and encouragement allowing His presence to shape and guide us from within moment by moment.
