Mary responded, “I am the Lord’s servant. May everything you have said about me come true.”

The angel went to her and said, “Greetings, you who are highly favored! The Lord is with you.”

“How will this be,” Mary asked.

35The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. 36Even Elizabeth, your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. 37For no word from God will ever fail.”

Your Yes triggers .

Your Yes triggers .

Your Yes .

Passage to Meditate On:

Luke 1:35-38 New International Version
The angel answered, “The Holy Spirit will come on you, and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. So the holy one to be born will be called the Son of God. Even Elizabeth your relative is going to have a child in her old age, and she who was said to be unable to conceive is in her sixth month. For no word from God will ever fail.” “I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her.

Question to Ask:

Have you ever found it difficult to say “yes” to something God had called you to do? How did it turn out when you ultimately did or did not act? What do you feel like God is asking you to say yes to now?

Application:

Reread Luke chapter 1. Mary’s response can encourage us to say “yes” even when it’s tough. What is keeping you from saying “yes” to God and how can you take a step this week?
