VICTORY CHURCH: A PLACE TO CALL

SERIES: KEEP the CHANGE
MESSAGE TITLE: The

of Change

(Unless otherwise noted, all Scripture is from the New King James Translation)

Pastor Keith Cross

Text:

Ephesians 1:11-12 (MSG)
It’s in Christ that we find out who we are and what we are living for. Long before we first heard of Christ and got our hopes up, he had his eye on us, had designs on us for glorious living, part of the overall purpose he is working out in everything and everyone.

MAIN IDEA: To

change, your purpose.

Purpose: the

(why) something or someone exists.

When you unpack your purpose you discover that…

1.Your

best serves your purpose (Eph.1:11-12; Acts 7:17-24)

When you unpack your “why” (divine design) you will discover your “what” (purpose). The theme of Exodus is deliverance and you can not have deliverance without a deliverer (Moses). Moses was full of love and compassion for people and he hated slavery. WHY? Because God designed him to be a deliverer, he was born to emancipate.

PROBLEM:

about your personality aborts purpose.

We have recently updated our assessment platform as a resource for you to discover your unique S.H.A.P.E. - Spiritual Gifts, Heart, Abilities, Personality, Experiences. I want to share that free resource with you today: See QR code on screen.

SOLUTION: To pursue change

your personality.

2.A

is necessary to your purpose (Eph.1:11-12; Acts 7:25-30)

There is a process of preparation necessary to your purpose. Moses underwent 80 years of process to prepare him as a deliver to the Israelites. Joseph was a slave for thirteen years in Egypt before he was promoted to second in command to Pharoh. Paul was prepared 14 years before he was sent on his first missionary journey. Jesus didn’t begin his 3 1/2 years of public ministry until he was 30.

PROBLEM:

with the process frustrates purpose.

SOLUTION: To pursue change

God with the process.

3.Your purpose needs a

(Eph.1:11-12; Acts 7:25-30)

To live out your purpose you need a problem. Moses was a solution to the problem of slavery. Everything that was created was created to solve a problem. God has a problem in the world that you are sent to fix. What is the problem you are called to solve? What is it that aches your heart? What is it that demands your attention, and stirs you to action?

PROBLEM:

of the problem distracts purpose.

You have to see beyond the problem to solve the problem, because at the end of the day, people who fulfill purpose are problem solvers not problem seers.

SOLUTION: To pursue change

BEYOND & the problem.

In conclusion, “To

change, your purpose.” When you unpack your purpose you discover that…Your best serves your purpose; A is necessary to your purpose; and Your purpose needs a .
